Dr Kal Vuthpala is the Principal GP at Carrara Family Practice, bringing more than two decades of medical experience spanning India, the United Kingdom, and Australia to his patients on the Gold Coast.
Dr Kal graduated in medicine in 2002 and went on to achieve Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) during his time in the UK, where he also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes and Endocrinology. During his tenure as a GP Partner and GP with a Special Interest in Diabetes at The New Victoria Hospital in Glasgow, Dr Kal served as Practice Lead for the DiRect Trial – a landmark research project exploring diabetes remission through lifestyle-based intervention.
Relocating to the Gold Coast in 2017, Dr Kal completed his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and has since focused on delivering proactive, evidence-based care to the local community.

Dr Kal is passionate about empowering patients to take an active role in their own health journey. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing badminton and cricket, and exploring the natural beauty of the Gold Coast.
